Shiloh, you always came and you'd stay.

Thank my wonderful mother for introducing me to Neil Diamond (Shilo) last Sunday (and it has been stuck in my head since).

I was sitting at work last Saturday bored out of my mind (much like today, hence the new blog) when I sorta went into a pet craze. It all started because Mommy Dearest made a post on FaceBook regarding chinchilla's (sorry Mom, cincilas)! Well chinchilla's are very cute and very fun, but VERY expensive. This broke college kid can barely afford groceries! Moving on to the next best, a cat. I have not lived a single day of my life without at LEAST one cat in my house. Why start now?

I went searching on craigslist and saw an ad for a place that rescues felines from high-kill animal shelters (www.pawsrescue.net). AWESOME! Why can't more people care this much about animals? I saw the perfect flame point lynx, Serena, on their website and fell in love. I called the number on the website and set up an appointment for Sunday afternoon to go check her out. Mommy kept telling me not to get my hopes up too high and to be logical about my decison (but you know I already had my $40 adoption fee ready)! I got there and Serena wasn't exactly what I was looking for. She sheds like crazy and both of my roommates are allergic to cats (yikes).

Over under a chair was a gorgeous calico kitten (full grown, only 1 year old) just letting all of the small kittens jump on and attack her without so much as flinching. Mommy just KNEW that was the perfect cat for me. I definitely fell in love (but I fall in love with every animal so what's new).

Shiloh came home with me that afternoon. She was definitely not enjoying her car rides (can you say a VERY messy crate?) and was a bit of a mess the first night home. However, she's one of the most loving and affectionate cats I've ever had. She sleeps a lot and just follows me around anytime I walk in the door. When I don't pay her enough attention, she enjoys wrapping herself around my leg and attacking (thank god it doesn't hurt). She's not too playful. Just a few pieces to a bigger puzzle.

We took her, along with Bella our Beast, to the vet on Wednesday to get her up to date on all of her vaccinations and get rid of her ear mites. She only weighs 5lb. I think that's going to change pretty drastically over the next few weeks though, SHE'S PREGNANT! Apparently one of those "TomCats" at the rescue shelter knocked her up. I want child support, mister!

Soo, if anyone would like to take one of the babies, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!
